Gopal Namkeen History –
Gopal Namkeen was founded by two brothers, Bipinbhai Hadvani is a founder of Gopal Namkeen Pvt. Ltd. He was born in the small village of Jamkandorna, Gujrat. Their family ran a small snack shop in the village but they didn’t get sufficient profit from the snack shop. In 1990 Bipinbhai Hadvani and his family members came to Rajkot and invested 8500 Rupees in the “Ganesh Brand Nankeen” shop. They were getting a good amount of money as compared to the old shop. After that success, Bipinbhai took a loan and In 1994, they started the Gopal Nankeen shop with Daxaben Hadvani (wife of Bipinbhai Hadvani) and Ashokbhai and Rekhaben Rokad (Brother in law Sister) joined the snacks business. The Gopal Nankeen during the initial days, was supplied to the local market of Rajkot. Their snack got a massive response from the local market and Bipinbhai’s brother Prafulbhai Hadvani came to join the family business in December 2000. The Gopal Nankeen established their own production line at Raj Nagar Society, Rajkot.
In 2001 they started a Gruh Udyog plant at Amar Nagar Industrial area of Rajkot 400 square feet. They were invested in technologies to improve the quality and taste of snacks. First automatic fryer Machine, and to improve the packaging quality of Nankeen, they discontinued PP bag packing and started strip packing in 2006. In 2007, with a bigger goal, they shifted their production line plant to the Vajadi (Vad) area of Lodhika Tahsil in a bigger space of 2000 sq. Meter Also, their product sell increased in local as well as other states’ markets. In 2009 Gopal Nankeen became the ‘Gopal Namkeen Private Limited’ with a new vision and biggest automatic plant at Metoda GIDC, Rajkot. The production plant is spread over 75000 Sq.ft. In 2015, they started their own Masala manufacturing unit with a manufacturing capacity of 15 Tons per day in another 5858 Sq.meter space.

In 2016, Gopal Nankeen purchased 34 Acres (140000 sq. meter ) of land in Maluda Tehsil near Nagpur City for the Nankeen plant as a part of the PAN India expansion plan. The Gopal Namkeen 2nd Unit of Nagpur will be one of the largest plants in India with a production capacity of around 1400 tons per day.

The Gopal Nankeen journey started with homemade chavanu by Vittalbhai Hadvani and Nowadays it has become a huge snack manufacturing industry. The Gopal Nankeen has 30 plus products like 9 snack pallet products, 16 Farsan products, and 8 Nankeen products. The total production capacity of 150 tons per day and the snacks pallet plant with a manufacturing capacity of 35 tons per day in an 1800 sq. meter area. The Gopal Nankeen has a claim to pay 1000 Cr in India and they set up a new plant in Nagpur at a cost of Rs 60 Cr. The new facility’s main aim is to capture the Maharashtra, South, and Central India snacks market. They have also included some seasoning products like Papad, Chilly Powder, Turmeric Powder, Cumin Powder, and Coriander Powder.

The Gopal Nankeen has focused on the latest technologies and automated types of machinery to fulfill the demands of the Nankeen products. In 2009 established a fully automated plant with no human hand touching the product, a fully automated transfer system from raw material input to the final output of production, Packing, and warehouse. The automatic warehouse system was cost-effective and had no human resources requirements. In 2014 they started their own ‘In-House Logistics Service’ to distribute products and provide the best quality service to each channel partner. They have 90 plus heavy-duty truck vehicles, these vehicles require Maintenance, Repair, Servicing, Painting, and Manufacturing of Container bodies for vehicles. The Gopal Nankeen started the printing press to print their packing pouch and used their own masala powder for their Nankeen products.

Gopal Nankeen plans to enter the International snack market and also wants to increase its market share as compared to other snack brands available in the market. Gopal Snacks IPO
Gopal Snacks IPO made a subdued entry into the market (March 14). On the NSE, the share price commenced at ₹351 per share, marking a decline of 12.47% from the issue price of ₹401. Similarly, on the BSE, Gopal Snacks shares opened at ₹350 each, reflecting a decrease of 12.72% compared to the issue price. Analysts had anticipated the IPO to list within the range of ₹370 to ₹392 per share.
